'Star Trump: British Fleet' is a simple trick-taking childrens card game with two variants: Quartet, and Star Trump.The deck is made up of information cards on various ships of the British Fleet, as it was in 1978. Each card contains the following information: Name, ship class, the year it was made, displacement, length, beam, complement and knots. A small paragraph down the bottom of each card also lists the armament as well as any aircraft (if any) carried. As part of the game mechanic for one variant of the card game, there is a number and letter in the top left hand corner which is used to designate groups of 4 ships. There is also a single card marked 'Star Trump' (in this case HMS Resolution, Submarine Polaris Class), which is used in the Star Trump game variant to 'trump' all other cards.Quartet is a lot like the popular childrens card game 'Go Fish', where you attempt to build sets of 4 cards by asking other players if they have a particular card. The overall winner is the player with the most sets at the end of the game.Star Trump is a simple trick-taking game. Cards are dealt, and but are held so that only the top most card is visible. Then one player calls out a particular detail eg. Year, everyone compares it to the detail on their top-most card, and the one with the highest value wins the round. Draws are discarded. When the 'Star Trump' card appears, that player automatically wins the round.
