Krikos uses (circular) Byzantine Chess board, colours it as modern chess, uses modern chess pieces and moves and an additional set of new rules.

Krikos was designed by John Cartmell of FD Games (previously Fleur Designs) and the later versions of this circular chess game include devices to give the game the depth of International Chess (missing from previous versions of circular chess) whilst sticking to the basic rules of modern chess. The game is supplied as four boards making up a complete playing area of 400mm x 400mm and uses a standard set of chess pieces (not supplied). The game is recommended for anyone who has learned to play standard chess.
