Joker Marbles

  • Description

Players race their marbles around the wooden track by playing their cards strategically. Watch out for the other players. If they can land on your marble, it goes back home.

Players keep 5 cards in their hands. Many cards have special actions:
2-6 - played to move a marble that number of places.
Face card - move 10, or moves a marble from home on to the track
Ace - move 1, or moves a marble on to the track
    7 - can be split 1+6, 2+5, 3+4, 7
    8 - moves a marble backwards 8
9 - must split, moves one marble back and the other forward a total of 9
Joker - move one of your marbles (from home or the track) to an opponent's spot on the track, sending their marble home. Marbles in the finish area are safe from this attack.

    Questions on JOKER Rules.
Basic rules state that you can only back out of home if the only card you can play is an 8. Later on the rules say you can use the 8 to back up at any time. This is contradictory and should be revised. I feel it should read that you cannot back out, period, or you can back up with an 8 at any time.
Concerning the play of the JOKER when playing your partners marbles/pegs near the end of the game, how can it be played? Can you treat the marble to be moved as your own and send the partners marble to his home entrance?
