This old game is by the same publishers as some other 'Authors' games from the 1800s, but is a variation that is a departure from previous games by that title.

The game includes a deck of 72 cards divided into 18 books. Each book contained the name and works of one author only, and the books were of various colors. You could probably play Authors with these cards and the Cribbage Authors if you wanted a little variety.
